The Process
Prior to interview, we will send you a short questionnaire. It enables us to collect brief details about the most important people, places and events in your life, and to become familiar with names and dates before we meet. The questionnaire also serves as an aide memoire and helps you identify the particular events, anecdotes and stories that you would like included in the book. It will provide a framework for the interviews, so that we focus on the most significant aspects of your life.
Over a series of interviews we will talk through your life experiences in detail. The interviews can be conducted over Zoom or FaceTime and last 60-90 minutes each. Your story will then be carefully written and structured over a number of chapters. Once your story has been written, you will receive a copy of each chapter to check for accuracy. You will have an opportunity to make revisions and add extra detail if required.
The book will be designed and typeset by our expert creative team and illustrated with your choice of photographs and relevant letters or documents. Together we will decide on a title for your memoirs and select a suitable image for the cover. You will also have the option to dedicate the book to someone special in your life, should you wish. Before the book goes to print, you will have an opportunity to see a full, print-ready ‘proof’ of the book for your final approval.
